After 12 minutes, Jonas Policarpio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newells and the Sanagasta AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 12th minute, Jonas Policarpio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sanagasta AFC's Joel Sugar got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Toni Mačković scored 2-0 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of German Lizbeth, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Toni Mačković sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. German Lizbeth had great luck who in the 24thth minute grab hold of the ball when Joel Sugar from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. 25 minutes into the game, Elvio Viviano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newells's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sanagasta AFC the free kick. Thanks to some nice moves Gualterio Peio could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which German Lizbeth however easily saved by the left post. When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Joel Sugar put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of German Lizbeth. Toni Mačković struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. German Lizbeth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sanagasta AFC. German Lizbeth made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Gualterio Peio sent off a good shot on target. In the 36th minute, Joel Sugar made a precise shot to the right of German Lizbeth. Newells's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Toni Mačković fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without German Lizbeth having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Newells's Guillermo Dimo got a free kick in the 41st minute. After recieving a nice pass, Sanagasta AFC's Candido Aztore tried to score from far away in the 42nd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Toni Mačković sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

German Lizbeth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Sugar in the 55th minute of play. After having played for 61 minutes, Joel Sugar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sanagasta AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joel Sugar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. German Lizbeth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Sugar in the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th minute Toni Mačković shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Lizbeth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Sugar in the 70th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck German Lizbeth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 72 minutes, Joel Sugar made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Newells's German Lizbeth tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Haroldo Lucado during the 77th minute. Sanagasta AFC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
