Newells's German Lizbeth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Sugar in the 5th minute of play. In the 7th minute, Gualterio Peio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sanagasta AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 11 minutes into the game, Sanagasta AFC's Gualterio Peio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. German Lizbeth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Candido Aztore took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 14th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for German Lizbeth. Newells's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Luciano Fliz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santiago Perrando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Newells's goalkeeper German Lizbeth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sanagasta AFC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Candido Aztore in the 21st minute. Sanagasta AFC's Candido Aztore was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but German Lizbeth in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 22 minutes into the match, Newells's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Sugar came free, but German Lizbeth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. German Lizbeth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Sugar in the 26th minute of play. When Gualterio Peio fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sanagasta AFC's protests and gave Gualterio Peio a yellow card for diving instead. Gualterio Peio kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Gualterio Peio scored 0-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of German Lizbeth, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 34 minutes into the game, Gualterio Peio cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. German Lizbeth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42ndth minute of the game Joel Sugar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newells's German Lizbeth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Joel Sugar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 45 minutes into the game, Wilfredo Erramun cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-6. German Lizbeth was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santiago Perrando stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Newells's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Sugar came free, but German Lizbeth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Guillermo Dimo during the 54th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 54th minute, Guillermo Dimo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Toni Mačković struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. German Lizbeth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sanagasta AFC. German Lizbeth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. After 71 minutes of play, Sanagasta AFC's Gualterio Peio made it 0-10 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. German Lizbeth was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 75th minute Ailín Willson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but German Lizbeth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Sugar in the 76th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg German Lizbeth saved Newells from getting behind. After 81 minutes of play, Sanagasta AFC's Joel Sugar made it 0-11 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. German Lizbeth was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ailín Willson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. German Lizbeth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Newells defense, Toni Mačković kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of German Lizbeth. The Newells fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that German Lizbeth should have stopped the shot. When Joel Sugar came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Sanagasta AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Sugar couldn't finish the play. German Lizbeth was out of position in the 92 minute of play, and Gualterio Peio capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gualterio Peio really showed his touch with that goal: 0-13. German Lizbeth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Sugar in the 96th minute of the match.
