In the 4thth minute of the game Lucas Lluterio who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Newells's German Lizbeth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jose Atauri scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of German Lizbeth, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 12th minute, Roque Osoitz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. German Lizbeth was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 15 minutes into the game, Tolosa's Lucas Lluterio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. German Lizbeth made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. German Lizbeth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Atauri, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Juan Manuel Irazabal kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. After some careless play in the Newells defense, Jose Atauri kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of German Lizbeth. The Newells fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that German Lizbeth should have stopped the shot. Roque Osoitz took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised German Lizbeth. German Lizbeth dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jose Atauri in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck German Lizbeth prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Santiago Perrando stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Isidoro Cerilo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogelio Ieltxu in the 53rd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute, Rogelio Ieltxu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newells fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-5. German Lizbeth came out of the goal in the 56th minute to try and stop a shot by Tolosa's Roque Osoitz. But to his dismay, Roque Osoitz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-6. Roque Osoitz received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. German Lizbeth came out and tried to block the shot, but Roque Osoitz slotted it home off the left post making it 1-7 in the 63rd minute. Jose Atauri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. German Lizbeth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Ortzi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidoro Cerilo having to interfere. German Lizbeth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roque Osoitz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tolosa's Roque Osoitz came free and shot a quick shot against goal 82 minutes in the game, fortunately German Lizbeth had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Newells's German Lizbeth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Newells from getting a goal against them. Jose Atauri might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over German Lizbeth. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jose Atauri ran back to his position shaking his head. When Lucas Lluterio came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Tolosa fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lucas Lluterio couldn't finish the play. German Lizbeth showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucas Lluterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Jose Atauri in the 96thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of German Lizbeth, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
