After some careless play in the Matagusanos defense, Fernando Jayvier kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Horacio Sendoa. The Matagusanos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Horacio Sendoa should have stopped the shot. Mikael Blomkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horacio Sendoa having to interfere. Fernando Jayvier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Godofredo Dominix's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Amado Urbez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. Mikael Blomkvist sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 18thth minute of the game Mikael Blomkvist who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matagusanos's Horacio Sendoa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mikael Blomkvist received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Horacio Sendoa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 24th minute, Fernando Jayvier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Horacio Sendoa was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. After a rather tough play, Chavarría 's Hilario Gilesindo got a free kick in the 28th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Matagusanos's Paulino Sotero tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Matagusanos's Horacio Sendoa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Jayvier in the 31st minute of play. 32 minutes had been played when some careless play by Matagusanos's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fernando Jayvier was slow to take the kick. During this time Chavarría 's players had a chance to rest. Fernando Jayvier made a great header on Chavarría 's corner, it was just that Matagusanos's Horacio Sendoa managed to reach the ball for a save. Amado Urbez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Godofredo Dominix went, in the 44th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Godofredo Dominix made the kick off in the second half. If Mikael Blomkvist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mikael Blomkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Horacio Sendoa having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Mikael Blomkvist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horacio Sendoa was relentless in the 62nd minute of the game. Mikael Blomkvist walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. 66 minutes into the game, Fernando Jayvier recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Horacio Sendoa. Fernando Jayvier showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-5. The supporters of Chavarría booed when Matagusanos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eustacio Montrelle didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mikael Blomkvist took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Horacio Sendoa. Horacio Sendoa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-6. Fernando Jayvier's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Horacio Sendoa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 72nd minute of play. Horacio Sendoa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fernando Jayvier showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-7 in the 72 minute of play. Mikael Blomkvist was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Chavarría 's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. When Matagusanos's Cipriano Napier in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chavarría 's goalie prevented a goal. If Fernando Jayvier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernando Jayvier's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 89thth minute, Horacio Sendoa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 94thth minute of the game Fernando Jayvier who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Matagusanos's Horacio Sendoa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Anacleto Iaki hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
