Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Kemal Müfit started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Abelardo Fresco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Bixintxo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 7th minute, Kemal Müfit left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. After 24 minutes of play, San Martin de Tucumán's Gaudencio Bixintxo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abelardo Fresco was left in no man's land by his defense there! Abelardo Fresco didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kemal Müfit went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. Gaudencio Bixintxo took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Abelardo Fresco. Abelardo Fresco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. Chicoana's Abelardo Fresco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kemal Müfit in the 34th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gaudencio Bixintxo in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abelardo Fresco saved Chicoana from getting behind. After having played for 39 minutes, Gaudencio Bixintxo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Martin de Tucumán's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaudencio Bixintxo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Abelardo Fresco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kemal Müfit in the 41st minute of play. Gaudencio Bixintxo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Fresco having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

In the 51st minute, Chicoana's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Cayetano Dodorol fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Kemal Müfit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Sergio Gartzea fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Chicoana's protests and gave Sergio Gartzea a yellow card for diving instead. Braulio Cordario shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Cayetano Dodorol received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Abelardo Fresco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 57 played minutes Chicoana got a freekick which was hit by Julio Christobal. Cayetano Dodorol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abelardo Fresco having to interfere. Abelardo Fresco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Kemal Müfit in the 60th minute. The supporters of San Martin de Tucumán booed when Chicoana was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Federico Ladio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abelardo Fresco was out of position in the 63 minute of play, and Kemal Müfit capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Kemal Müfit really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Chicoana's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-7. 85 minutes had been played when some careless play by San Martin de Tucumán's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Aquiles Garoa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chicoana's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Chicoana's Aquiles Garoa to fire away a dangerous shot which Marcial Paskal despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 88 minutes into the match, Kemal Müfit had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Abelardo Fresco. Chicoana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kemal Müfit was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. Federico Ladio scored 1-8 in the 94th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcial Paskal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Chicoana's Abelardo Fresco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 97th minute of the match, managed to save Chicoana from getting a goal against them.
