In the 4th minute, Adan Frutos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 7 minutes into the match, Chicoana's Prudencio Sendoa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jay-Jay Mamonov narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Bafana Bafana AFC getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Saverio Ubarna hit a great ball. Chicoana's Abelardo Fresco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcial Tanio in the 25th minute of play. Jay-Jay Mamonov was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Prudencio Sendoa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 28 minute of play. The supporters of Chicoana booed when Bafana Bafana AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elvio Frederico didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bafana Bafana AFC's Jay-Jay Mamonov proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Bafana Bafana AFC from getting a goal against them. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Christian Brais made a kick off. In the 53rd minute Prudencio Sendoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jay-Jay Mamonov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Chicoana's zone, Marcial Tanio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abelardo Fresco came out of the goal and Marcial Tanio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abelardo Fresco was out of position in the 58 minute of play, and Christian Brais capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Christian Brais really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Bafana Bafana AFC's Jay-Jay Mamonov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Federico Ladio in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Federico Ladio in the 62nd minute of play forced Bafana Bafana AFC's goalkeeper Jay-Jay Mamonov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Bafana Bafana AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Ladio came free, but Jay-Jay Mamonov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saverio Ubarna's late challenge caught a Chicoana's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Saverio Ubarna helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Chicoana booed when Bafana Bafana AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Prudencio Sendoa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jay-Jay Mamonov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. Bafana Bafana AFC's Jay-Jay Mamonov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Prudencio Sendoa in the 70th minute of play. If Federico Ladio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75thth minute of the game Prudencio Sendoa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bafana Bafana AFC's Jay-Jay Mamonov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Adan Frutos took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jay-Jay Mamonov. Jay-Jay Mamonov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. In the 83rd minute, Federico Ladio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jay-Jay Mamonov was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Jay-Jay Mamonov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prudencio Sendoa in the 89th minute of play. Jay-Jay Mamonov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prudencio Sendoa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. During the 93rd minute of the match Saverio Ubarna completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Saverio Ubarna a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. After a rather tough play, Bafana Bafana AFC's Saverio Ubarna got a free kick in the 94th minute. Chicoana's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
