Christian Brais showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Jay-Jay Mamonov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Angelo Matei, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Jay-Jay Mamonov came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Leones FC's Camilo Basualdo. But to his dismay, Camilo Basualdo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Sven-Olof Hellström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcial Tanio in the 19th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Angelo Matei in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jay-Jay Mamonov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marcial Tanio who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 24thth minute tested the skills of Sven-Olof Hellström when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 24th match minute, Leones FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Genaro Iraido to maneuver through the defense. Elvio Frederico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Leones FC's Sven-Olof Hellström got control of the ball when Elvio Frederico tried to sneak it across the goal line. Tadeo Etxeberri kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. The supporters of Leones FC booed when Bafana Bafana AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcial Tanio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 45 minutes into the match, Saverio Ubarna had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sven-Olof Hellström. Leones FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Saverio Ubarna was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Christian Brais was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Angelo Matei lined in a short shot 2-2 behind a frustrated Jay-Jay Mamonov. In the 57thth minute of the game Angelo Matei who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bafana Bafana AFC's Jay-Jay Mamonov was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Bafana Bafana AFC's goalkeeper Jay-Jay Mamonov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Angelo Matei. A collision led to Bafana Bafana AFC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Saverio Ubarna hit a great ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aurelio Galo during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Leones FC booed when Bafana Bafana AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aurelio Galo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 71st minute of the match Jonathan Astudillo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jay-Jay Mamonov showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The referee ignored Leones FC's protests and gave Tadeo Etxeberri a yellow card for diving instead. 76 minutes into the game, one of Leones FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Bafana Bafana AFC a penalty, 79 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ariel Cordara, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Leones FC's Sven-Olof Hellström. 3-2.
