The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joaquin Adrio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kryspin Topolski in the 4th minute of the match. The supporters of Isla Ortigia booed when Deportivo Santa Gilda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Ayala didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Torres in the 10th minute of play forced Deportivo Santa Gilda's goalkeeper Lino Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th minute, Carlos Ayala hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Ayala in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Adrio saved Isla Ortigia from getting behind. Raul Araoz kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Joaquin Adrio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Ayala in the 23rd minute of play. If Kryspin Topolski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kryspin Topolski charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kryspin Topolski the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Kryspin Topolski kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After 29 played minutes, Deportivo Santa Gilda's Mariano Sancho shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Joaquin Adrio came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Santa Gilda reached it. Isla Ortigia's Joaquin Adrio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Ayala in the 30th minute of play. 35 minutes into the game, Raul Araoz threw the ball into play from the sideline. Deportivo Santa Gilda's Elpidio Gabrio quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 38th minute, Deportivo Santa Gilda's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Haroldo Barto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Carlos Ayala hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Lino Mazza came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Isla Ortigia's Ernesto Torres. But to his dismay, Ernesto Torres quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sebastian Maule made a kick off. Carlos Ayala fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Adrio having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Maule in the 59th minute of play forced Deportivo Santa Gilda's goalkeeper Lino Mazza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Isla Ortigia booed when Deportivo Santa Gilda was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Ulizes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carlos Ayala recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Isla Ortigia's Joaquin Adrio got control of the ball when Carlos Ayala tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Deportivo Santa Gilda getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Siro Isauro hit a great ball. Carlos Ayala struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Joaquin Adrio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Deportivo Santa Gilda. With an all-out effort, Deportivo Santa Gilda's Joaquin Adrio threw himself towards the right post 94 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Ayala, which otherwise would have been placed in the net.
