Gervasio Gaskon scored 0-3 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lino Ascencio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Hernandarias's Venancio Espiridion in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Canallas's goalie prevented a goal. Canallas's Lino Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Venancio Espiridion in the 25th minute of play. Lino Ascencio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Venancio Espiridion's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. José Augusto Cadena took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lino Ascencio. Lino Ascencio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. With an all-out effort, Canallas's Esteve Rico threw himself towards the right post 33 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Delmiro Ramond, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 34th minute, Venancio Espiridion ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lino Ascencio was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. Lino Ascencio came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Hernandarias's Venancio Espiridion. But to his dismay, Venancio Espiridion quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-7. Lino Ascencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gervasio Gaskon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Canallas's Lino Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gervasio Gaskon in the 45th minute of play. Lino Ascencio came out of the goal in the 46th minute to try and stop a shot by Hernandarias's Gervasio Gaskon. But to his dismay, Gervasio Gaskon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-8. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-8 lead.

The wind increased when Alfredo Veremundo made the kick off in the second half. Lino Ascencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Augusto Cadena, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Venancio Espiridion could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Lino Ascencio however easily saved by the left post. José Augusto Cadena had several of the Canallas's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 59 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-9 score and a disappointed Lino Ascencio as he didn't even see the shot coming. Lino Ascencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vladimiro Calvet, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Esteve Rico showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delmiro Ramond in the 64th minute of the match. Lino Ascencio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of José Augusto Cadena's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. In the 66th minute, Aristides Luke hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venancio Espiridion could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Lino Ascencio made a huge save. Alfredo Veremundo's late challenge caught a Hernandarias's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alfredo Veremundo helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Hernandarias booed when Canallas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gervasio Gaskon in the 92nd minute of play forced Canallas's goalkeeper Lino Ascencio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Canallas's Lino Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Augusto Cadena in the 94th minute of play.
