After some careless play in the Zubiaurre FC defense, Siro Eder kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Severino Sauveur. The Zubiaurre FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Severino Sauveur should have stopped the shot. 23 minutes into the match, Club Atlético Talleres's David Maghiran sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Severino Sauveur narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Club Atlético Talleres getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Club Atlético Talleres's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Maghiran was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 35th minute, David Maghiran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Club Atlético Talleres fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. After 43 minutes of play, Club Atlético Talleres's Siro Eder made it 0-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino Sauveur was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Club Atlético Talleres were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Jimeno Rudolfo came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Zubiaurre FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jimeno Rudolfo couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when David Maghiran got free with Severino Sauveur in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 53 played minutes Zubiaurre FC got a freekick which was hit by Santo Lluterio. The throw-in from Claudio Cortez in the 55th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Club Atlético Talleres's Aquiles Obano. Aquiles Obano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Severino Sauveur tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edelmiro Cibran scored 1-5 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Baltasar George, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Zubiaurre FC's zone, Amado Regis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Severino Sauveur came out of the goal and Amado Regis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
