Benedicto Joseph tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Millán 's goalkeeper Carmelo Acevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alejandro Edur. Victorio Chabier hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. When Teodosio Cordera came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Entamoeba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teodosio Cordera couldn't finish the play. Benedicto Joseph made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmacio Mogel in the 26th minute of play. Gabriel Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Millán 's Carmelo Acevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alejandro Edur in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Edur in the 34th minute of play forced Millán 's goalkeeper Carmelo Acevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 35 minutes into the match, Entamoeba FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dalmacio Mogel came free, but Benedicto Joseph reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Entamoeba FC's Teodosio Cordera got a free kick in the 36th minute. Salvador Barto who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 40thth minute tested the skills of Carmelo Acevedo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alejandro Edur got free with Carmelo Acevedo in the 41st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Carmelo Acevedo made a fantastic save in the 44th minute, when Salvador Barto sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alejandro Edur in the 45th minute of play forced Millán 's goalkeeper Carmelo Acevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alejandro Edur could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Carmelo Acevedo made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Gabriel Cordeiro made the kick off in the second half. The Millán fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carmelo Acevedo should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Gabriel Cordeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Entamoeba FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gabriel Cordeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carmelo Acevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Everardo Lizardi fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Millán 's protests and gave Everardo Lizardi a yellow card for diving instead. But to his dismay, Enrique Etxekopar quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Benedicto Joseph made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Etxekopar in the 84th minute. When Alejandro Edur came up free with the goalie in the 85th minute, the Entamoeba FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alejandro Edur couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Millán booed when Entamoeba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alejandro Edur didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89th minute Gabriel Cordeiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carmelo Acevedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Justo Urritz was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 94 minutes into the match. After 94 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Millán ! The Entamoeba FC manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Millán to win.
