In the 16th minute Gilberto Guillem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcel Albuquerque saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Eliseo Pirro fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bahia Sporting Club's protests and gave Eliseo Pirro a yellow card for diving instead. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Osoitz Rescuro prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Darell Beltre took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcel Albuquerque. Marcel Albuquerque dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. When Godfredo Bernad fell near the penalty area in the 36th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. After 39 minutes, Sergio Ilixo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Medanito and the Bahia Sporting Club players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Medanito's Sergio Ilixo got a free kick in the 39th minute. Marcel Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliseo Pirro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Medanito players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bahia Sporting Club were winning 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gilberto Guillem was the one to do the kick off. Marcel Albuquerque showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gilberto Guillem in the 51st minute of the match. Godfredo Bernad recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Osoitz Rescuro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Godfredo Bernad's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Marcel Albuquerque took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darell Beltre, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 60 minutes, Gilberto Guillem took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Marcel Albuquerque to make any attempt to save it. Marcel Albuquerque made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eliseo Pirro in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Bahia Sporting Club's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Ilixo came free, but Osoitz Rescuro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eliseo Pirro got free with Marcel Albuquerque in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bahia Sporting Club's Alípio Caiado was substituted for Hugo Velasco. Medanito's Marcel Albuquerque played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darell Beltre in the 75th minute of play. In the 77th minute Sergio Ilixo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osoitz Rescuro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bahia Sporting Club's Ludvig Nässén was substituted for Gilberto Guillem. Eliseo Pirro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcel Albuquerque having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Darell Beltre made a precise shot to the right of Marcel Albuquerque. Medanito's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 89 minutes into the match, Medanito's goalkeeper Marcel Albuquerque had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eliseo Pirro. The Medanito supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Bahia Sporting Club's performance. The match ended with a win for Bahia Sporting Club.
