Saint Etienne FC's Maximino Errapel managed to work through Belgrano FC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Maximino Errapel dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 8 minutes into the game, Saint Etienne FC's Fernando Ferdinand nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Erubiel Castel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 14 minutes into the match, Saint Etienne FC's Tolek Wojno sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Erubiel Castel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Erubiel Castel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Gigliotti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Belgrano FC defense, Maximino Errapel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Erubiel Castel. The Belgrano FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Erubiel Castel should have stopped the shot. Emanuel Gigliotti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Erubiel Castel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Belgrano FC's Erubiel Castel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fernando Ferdinand in the 28th minute of play. After 29 played minutes Belgrano FC got a freekick which was hit by Eulalio Frutos. Juan Enekoitz succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 3-0 in the 34th playminute. Maximino Errapel received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Erubiel Castel came out and tried to block the shot, but Maximino Errapel slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 37th minute. In the 41st minute Emanuel Gigliotti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Erubiel Castel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Nereo Nastasio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Saint Etienne FC's Luis Marz was substituted for Juan Enekoitz. After a rather tough play, Saint Etienne FC's Nereo Nastasio got a free kick in the 43rd minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Agustin Hondo to make the kick off. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erubiel Castel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 55 minutes, Tolek Wojno made it 6-0 with a short kick to the right side. Belgrano FC's Erubiel Castel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Erubiel Castel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emanuel Gigliotti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tolek Wojno might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Erubiel Castel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tolek Wojno ran back to his position shaking his head. After 60 minutes, Maximino Errapel made it 7-0 with a short kick to the right side. Belgrano FC's Erubiel Castel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Saint Etienne FC's Alejo Telesforo was substituted for Fernando Ferdinand. In the 65th minute, Maximino Errapel made a precise shot to the right of Erubiel Castel. Belgrano FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Emanuel Gigliotti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. During the 80th minute of the match Nereo Nastasio completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Nereo Nastasio a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Maximino Errapel in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erubiel Castel saved Belgrano FC from getting behind. After 91 played minutes Belgrano FC got a freekick which was hit by Eulalio Frutos. The Saint Etienne FC fans' excitement grew in the 96th match minute when Saint Etienne FC's Maximino Errapel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 11-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. There was no doubt that Saint Etienne FC were the better team. Saint Etienne FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
