CSD Estación Chilavert's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Reynaldo Bertol was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Rogelio Toribio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rafael Børre in the 15th minute of play. CSD Estación Chilavert's Rogelio Toribio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Ekain in the 16th minute of play. Juan Kepa ran back to his position shaking his head. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

In the 54th minute, Rafael Børre made a precise shot to the right of Rogelio Toribio. CSD Estación Chilavert's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. CSD Estación Chilavert's Rogelio Toribio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Reynaldo Bertol in the 57th minute of play. The CSD Estación Chilavert fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rogelio Toribio should have stopped the shot. 69 minutes into the game, Reynaldo Bertol recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rogelio Toribio. Reynaldo Bertol showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Rogelio Toribio made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Desiderio Ekain sent off a good shot on target. 78 minutes into the match, CSD Estación Chilavert's goal looked a bit too open when Reynaldo Bertol came free, but Rogelio Toribio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Desiderio Ekain could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Rogelio Toribio made a huge save. In the 85th match minute, CSD Estación Chilavert was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Candido Tello to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, CSD Estación Chilavert's goalkeeper Rogelio Toribio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reynaldo Bertol. CSD Estación Chilavert's Rogelio Toribio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save CSD Estación Chilavert from getting a goal against them. In the 94th minute Herbert Kvarnström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rogelio Toribio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th minute Desiderio Ekain suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. Candido Tello was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 95th minute, one of CSD Estación Chilavert:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for CSD Estación Chilavert. Juan Kepa shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Taladro Nordico played a much better game than CSD Estación Chilavert and deserved their victory. The CSD Estación Chilavert players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
