Central Cerro Monje's Fabio Gaitan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abelardo Cristofor in the 3rd minute of play. A collision led to Central Cerro Monje getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Damaso Miliano hit a great ball. After 7 played minutes, Deportivo Alberti's Sverker Fribäck shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Fabio Gaitan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Deportivo Alberti reached it. Clodoveo Manny blasted a shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Fabio Gaitan having to make a save. Fabio Gaitan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Cristofor in the 10th minute of play. 12 minutes had been played when some careless play by Central Cerro Monje's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Sverker Fribäck was slow to take the kick. During this time Deportivo Alberti's players had a chance to rest. Deportivo Alberti's Sverker Fribäck was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Fabio Gaitan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Clodoveo Manny recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo Cristofor in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabio Gaitan saved Central Cerro Monje from getting behind. Fabio Gaitan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abelardo Cristofor in the 28th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Abelardo Cristofor managed to get in a good position for a shot. Deportivo Alberti's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Cristofor was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabio Gaitan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Raşit Uluman took the ball and in the 41 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fabio Gaitan. Fabio Gaitan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. The Deportivo Alberti fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when Deportivo Alberti's Abelardo Cristofor looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The wind increased when Abelardo Cristofor made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Abelardo Cristofor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Fabio Gaitan was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Sverker Fribäck hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, Central Cerro Monje's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo Cristofor came free, but Fabio Gaitan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raşit Uluman received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fabio Gaitan came out and tried to block the shot, but Raşit Uluman slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 69th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Abelardo Cristofor in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Gaitan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Fabio Gaitan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Abelardo Cristofor, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 0-5 became the score in the 86th minute when Abelardo Cristofor elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abelardo Cristofor in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fabio Gaitan saved Central Cerro Monje from getting behind.
