Gustavo Lucila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marciano Iago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 25 minutes, Arturo Iruinea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goldey and the Mailín players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Goldey getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Arturo Iruinea hit a great ball. If Marciano Iago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baldomero Lesardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gustavo Lucila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Octavio Feliz in the 32nd minute of play. Arnaldo Miliano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Lucila having to interfere. In the 36th match minute, Mailín was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Orlin to maneuver through the defense. Gustavo Lucila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnaldo Miliano in the 39th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Godofredo Licerio got free with Luciano Socorro in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Marciano Iago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half Mailín were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Luciano Socorro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victorio Mendez in the 53rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnaldo Miliano got free with Gustavo Lucila in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the match, Mailín's goal looked a bit too open when Godofredo Licerio came free, but Luciano Socorro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Mailín getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Fabricio Nevada hit a great ball. Florentino Raulo hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Victorio Mendez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luciano Socorro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mailín's Gabriel Roano got a free kick in the 64th minute. Goldey's Gustavo Lucila played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marcelo Montez in the 70th minute of play. 75 minutes into the match, Goldey's goalkeeper Gustavo Lucila had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marciano Iago. After 76 minutes of play Goldey's Arturo Iruinea was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Goldey's Arturo Iruinea got a free kick in the 76th minute. If Arnaldo Miliano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlos Firme in the 83rd minute of play forced Mailín's goalkeeper Luciano Socorro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marciano Iago in the 84thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Gustavo Lucila, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 87th minute Godofredo Licerio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Socorro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 92nd play minute Marciano Iago came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Gustavo Lucila. 0-2. Mailín played a much better game than Goldey and deserved their victory. The Goldey players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
