Francisco Álvarez's goal looked a bit too open when Silvio Poncio came free, but Hilario Mon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernabe Jenaro in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hilario Mon saved C. A. Francisco Álvarez from getting behind. Hilario Mon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Valentin Elodio went, in the 15th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Valentin Elodio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilario Mon having to interfere. Bernabe Jenaro struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Hilario Mon didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Unión de Santa Fe. 22 minutes into the game, Niceto Llope was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. C. A. Francisco Álvarez's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Unión de Santa Fe the free kick. A collision led to C. A. Francisco Álvarez getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Modesto Ebardo hit a great ball. C. A. Francisco Álvarez's Hilario Mon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvio Poncio in the 33rd minute of play. When Valentin Elodio came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Unión de Santa Fe fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Valentin Elodio couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Bernabe Jenaro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Hilario Mon was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Bernabe Jenaro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hilario Mon having to interfere. Bernabe Jenaro might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hilario Mon. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ciriaco Savion to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Unión de Santa Fe defense, Ezequiel Garin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Murat Tunçhan. The Unión de Santa Fe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Murat Tunçhan should have stopped the shot. In the 57th match minute, C. A. Francisco Álvarez was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Garin to maneuver through the defense. If Ciriaco Savion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Silvio Poncio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 85th minute, Silvio Poncio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 95th minute Bernabe Jenaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hilario Mon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over Unión de Santa Fe could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than C. A. Francisco Álvarez throughout the match.
