The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hermengildo Cordeara in the 2nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aristides Beltza prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 5th minute Hermengildo Cordeara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aristides Beltza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Desiderio Florian in the 6th minute. Desiderio Florian made a great header on NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's corner, it was just that Deportivo Caño y Plancha's Aristides Beltza managed to reach the ball for a save. When Hermengildo Cordeara came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hermengildo Cordeara couldn't finish the play. 15 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Hermengildo Cordeara sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aristides Beltza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 23 minutes into the match, Hermengildo Cordeara notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Deportivo Caño y Plancha's Aristides Beltza. Aristides Beltza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Leo Lore blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aristides Beltza having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 39 minutes, Hermengildo Cordeara put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Aristides Beltza. After 42 minutes, Conrado Lluciano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS and the Deportivo Caño y Plancha players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 43rd minute, Conrado Lluciano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Hermengildo Cordeara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aristides Beltza was a little too slow when Conrado Lluciano got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 47th minute. The score was now 5-1. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hermengildo Cordeara to make the kick off. Aristides Beltza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leo Lore in the 53rd minute of play. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Desiderio Florian in the 54th minute. 俞锋烽 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gaudencio Matteo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Hermengildo Cordeara got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hermengildo Cordeara received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Aristides Beltza tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hermengildo Cordeara in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aristides Beltza saved Deportivo Caño y Plancha from getting behind. Deportivo Caño y Plancha's Aristides Beltza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hermengildo Cordeara in the 77th minute of play. 78 minutes into the game, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Hermengildo Cordeara nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aristides Beltza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. In the 82nd minute, Hermengildo Cordeara made a precise shot to the right of Aristides Beltza. Deportivo Caño y Plancha's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 9-1. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Hermengildo Cordeara got a free kick in the 88th minute. Prospero Canor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 96th minute of the match, but 俞锋烽 made a huge save. When the referee ended the match the NEWELL´S OLD BOYS players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
