When Aleš Šváb came up free with the goalie in the 17th minute, the Caburé FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aleš Šváb couldn't finish the play. If Jorge Adán had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lu Zhen Shu's late challenge caught a Caburé FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lu Zhen Shu helped the player get up and apologised. After 21 played minutes Vélez got a freekick which was hit by Lu Zhen Shu. In the 24th minute, Jorge Adán made a precise shot to the right of Agustin Kaxen. Caburé FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Burim Bambov might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sugar Saver. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Burim Bambov ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 32nd minute Burim Bambov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sugar Saver saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Burim Bambov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sugar Saver having to interfere. In the 36th minute, Ignacio Salamon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Burim Bambov received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Sugar Saver tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Baldomiro Naike hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Vélez's goalkeeper Sugar Saver, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Vélez getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Ignacio Salamon hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Burim Bambov stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice moves Burim Bambov could shoot a difficult shot in the 54th minute, which Sugar Saver however easily saved by the left post. Burim Bambov hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. After 60 played minutes Caburé FC got a freekick which was hit by Aleš Šváb. Burim Bambov took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sugar Saver. Sugar Saver dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In the 69th minute Ignacio Salamon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustin Kaxen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agustin Kaxen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Florentino Rolado in the 78th minute of the match. Burim Bambov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sugar Saver having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Burim Bambov managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caburé FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Burim Bambov was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sugar Saver breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Caburé FC's Herminio Ladio got a free kick in the 90th minute. Lu Zhen Shu kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
