Salinas FC's Paulino Maule played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teofilo Cefero in the 45th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Teofilo Cefero to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Teofilo Cefero's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Paulino Maule was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Teofilo Cefero in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Paulino Maule saved Salinas FC from getting behind. If Gaudencio Nazario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gaudencio Nazario came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Salinas FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaudencio Nazario couldn't finish the play. Teofilo Cefero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leon Txatxu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
