Carlos Mino started the match with the kick off. Marcelo Tiniebra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Gentza in the 4th minute of the match. In the 6th minute, Florencio Ondino made a precise shot to the right of Marcelo Tiniebra. Legionarios's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Efrain Etor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Marcelo Tiniebra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 11 minutes into the game, Rogelio Erruki was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Legionarios's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carlo Ancelotti the free kick. In the 11th minute, Rogelio Erruki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcelo Tiniebra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dante Gentza, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Nemesio Sanchez in the 15th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Carlo Ancelotti's Braulio Llorenc. Dante Gentza struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Marcelo Tiniebra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carlo Ancelotti. Legionarios's Marcelo Tiniebra played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dante Gentza in the 17th minute of play. Efrain Etor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Marcelo Tiniebra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 28 minutes into the game, Dante Gentza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Marcelo Tiniebra was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The Legionarios fans' excitement grew in the 33rd match minute when Legionarios's Carlos Mino looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marcelo Tiniebra didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Florencio Ondino went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. If Efrain Etor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Domingo Umbruso kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Marcelo Tiniebra came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by Carlo Ancelotti's Dante Gentza. But to his dismay, Dante Gentza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-4. After the first half Carlo Ancelotti were leading 1-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Efrain Etor made the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Saverio Diaz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Legionarios's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carlo Ancelotti the free kick. After a rather tough play, Legionarios's Saverio Diaz got a free kick in the 53rd minute. If Efrain Etor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 68th minute, Efrain Etor made a precise shot to the right of Marcelo Tiniebra. Legionarios's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. 71 minutes into the match, Amancio Frances had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Tomás Gonsalvo. Carlo Ancelotti's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Amancio Frances was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-6. After a defensive mix-up in Legionarios's zone, Efrain Etor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Tiniebra came out of the goal and Efrain Etor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcelo Tiniebra stood somewhat misplaced when Dante Gentza came free in front of goal and shot 2-7 to the left of him in the 78 minute. Braulio Llorenc fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcelo Tiniebra having to interfere. If Efrain Etor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Efrain Etor struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Marcelo Tiniebra didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carlo Ancelotti. Carlo Ancelotti's Dante Gentza got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Efrain Etor's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 94thth minute, Marcelo Tiniebra skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Carlo Ancelotti played a much better game than Legionarios and deserved their victory. The Legionarios players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
