The LIONS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fabian Marz should have stopped the shot. Hernan Lorencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Vettel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luís Artime struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Fabian Marz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esparta FC. After having played for 28 minutes, Luís Artime managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esparta FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Luís Artime was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of LIONS booed when Esparta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Francisco Vincente didn't get a good kick on the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Ruperto Sedeni notched a goal, 0-6, to the right of LIONS's Fabian Marz. Fabian Marz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to LIONS getting a freekick after 43 minutes play. Justo Aresti hit a great ball. LIONS's Fabian Marz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruperto Sedeni in the 45th minute of play. Fabian Marz was left in no man's land by his defense there! The LIONS players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Esparta FC were winning 0-7.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Ruperto Sedeni got free with Fabian Marz in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 58th minute, Luís Artime got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hernan Lorencio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aaron Montrelle, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Basilio Haimar during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match was over Esparta FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than LIONS throughout the match.
