The supporters of Manantial booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Genaro Adrio didn't get a good kick on the ball. 27 minutes into the match, River Plate's goal looked a bit too open when Ermegildo Elazar came free, but Roberto Sedeni reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anastasio Piarres came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Remigio Conrao. But to his dismay, Remigio Conrao quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ermegildo Elazar in the 37th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Roberto Sedeni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 52 minutes of play Manantial's Miguel Laffitte was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a defensive mix-up in River Plate's zone, Emiliano Berenguer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roberto Sedeni came out of the goal and Emiliano Berenguer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Baltasar Estebe in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Anastasio Piarres prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 71 minutes into the match, Remigio Conrao had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anastasio Piarres. Manantial's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Remigio Conrao was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Genaro Adrio kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emiliano Berenguer got free with Roberto Sedeni in the 76th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Manantial's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Leo Cai in the 78th minute. The corner ended in Leo Cai almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but River Plate's Roberto Sedeni did a great save. In the 83rd match minute, Manantial was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emiliano Berenguer to maneuver through the defense. If Emiliano Berenguer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Remigio Conrao's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Anastasio Piarres was relentless in the 93rd minute of the game. Remigio Conrao struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Anastasio Piarres didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for River Plate. Serafino Rosario blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anastasio Piarres having to make a save.
