Leopoldo Huly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgardo Txaran, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. Edgardo Txaran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Huly having to interfere. If Edelmiro Beremundo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aldo Tolino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 32nd minute Edgardo Txaran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leopoldo Huly saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, Edgardo Txaran had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leopoldo Huly. Rosario Central's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgardo Txaran was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edelmiro Beremundo made a kick off. Leandro Corderro struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Leopoldo Huly didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Edelmiro Beremundo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Leopoldo Huly made a huge save. If Edgardo Txaran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
