After a rather tough play, Gimnasia's Urbano Quilino got a free kick in the 19th minute. 20 minutes into the match, Gimnasia's goalkeeper Prospero Iratze had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edgardo Milian. In the 21st match minute, Gimnasia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Victor Eufemio to maneuver through the defense. Edgardo Milian who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 22ndth minute tested the skills of Prospero Iratze when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Mario Salomon struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Nicolas Galtero didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gimnasia. In the 34th minute of the match Uriel Ferrando sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Nicolas Galtero skillfully saved the ball. Prospero Iratze took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Angelino Bernard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
