Ubaldo Cambiasso had several of the River Plate's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 13 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Ezequiel Illan as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 15th minute, Ubaldo Cambiasso left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BAIRES fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 21 minutes into the game, Tobias Gorka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. BAIRES's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate the free kick. A collision led to BAIRES getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Tobias Gorka hit a great ball. When BAIRES's Genaro Cambiasso in the 24th minute got a chance for a shot 24th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. In the 27th minute Lisandro Jerardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anibal Cambiasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28thth minute of the game Genaro Cambiasso who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but River Plate's Ezequiel Illan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 29th minute BAIRES were awarded a corner. Gabriel Duarte went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Gabriel Duarte almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but River Plate's Ezequiel Illan did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Genaro Cambiasso in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ezequiel Illan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ezequiel Illan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Andres Cambiasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When BAIRES's Genaro Cambiasso in the 35th minute got a chance for a shot 35th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye River Plate's goalie prevented a goal. After 40 played minutes Genaro Cambiasso rounded River Plate's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 5-0. Ubaldo Cambiasso sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Ezequiel Illan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Cambiasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. When Ubaldo Cambiasso came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the BAIRES fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ubaldo Cambiasso couldn't finish the play. Despite this Ezequiel Illan quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 65 minutes into the match, BAIRES's goal looked a bit too open when Flavio Papetti came free, but Anibal Cambiasso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ezequiel Illan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ubaldo Cambiasso, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. If Genaro Cambiasso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 73rd minute, Esteve Su hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute Genaro Cambiasso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ezequiel Illan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Esteve Su charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Esteve Su the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, River Plate's Esteve Su got a free kick in the 79th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Ubaldo Cambiasso managed to get in a good position for a shot. BAIRES's supporters rose to their feet, but Ubaldo Cambiasso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ezequiel Illan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. River Plate's Ezequiel Illan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andres Cambiasso in the 84th minute of play. Genaro Cambiasso kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The BAIRES fans cheered their team off the field, for while River Plate had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
