After 5 played minutes Avellaneda got a freekick which was hit by Ceferino Tolino. The referee felt a red card was in order, 12 minutes into the game, when Emilio Ibar put in a rough tackle. In the 13th match minute, Sativa F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Emilio Ibar to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute Cornelio Bide shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Raymundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Higinio Raymundo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patricio Viator, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When Filomeno George fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sativa F.C's protests and gave Filomeno George a yellow card for diving instead. Saul Ovando came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by Sativa F.C's Gonzalo Chaime. But to his dismay, Gonzalo Chaime quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 24 minutes into the match, Sativa F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Edgardo Olayo came free, but Higinio Raymundo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Sativa F.C's Cristobal Ostadar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Saul Ovando narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Benicio Donio sped through Sativa F.C's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Higinio Raymundo. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonzalo Chaime got free with Saul Ovando in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edgardo Olayo to strike the kick off in the second half. Higinio Raymundo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgardo Olayo in the 69th minute of the match. Higinio Raymundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ceferino Tolino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Higinio Raymundo came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Avellaneda's Benicio Donio. But to his dismay, Benicio Donio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cristobal Ostadar in the 77th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Saul Ovando prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 78th minute, Alonzo Abad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Cristobal Ostadar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Higinio Raymundo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Olayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, Sativa F.C's goalkeeper Higinio Raymundo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Patricio Viator. In the 87th minute of the match, Benicio Donio got a very nice opportunity to score, but Higinio Raymundo was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 88th minute, Alonzo Abad hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 91st minute Edgardo Olayo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Higinio Raymundo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edgardo Olayo in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Higinio Raymundo saved Sativa F.C from getting behind. The Avellaneda supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Avellaneda would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
