Herminio Koldo hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by River plate's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Damião Granja was slow to take the kick. During this time Kaplan's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Kaplan's Damião Granja to fire away a dangerous shot which Aytaç Bartu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Damião Granja could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 30th minute of the match, but Aytaç Bartu made a huge save. In the 32nd minute the ball was on its way in behind River plate's goalkeeper Aytaç Bartu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leo Vasco in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Aytaç Bartu prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 89th minute, Rene Illart got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aytaç Bartu came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Kaplan's Damião Granja. But to his dismay, Damião Granja quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Kaplan fans cheered their team off the field, for while River plate had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
