Cuervo Loco's Sebastian Uhrig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hipolito Aurken in the 11th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Distribuidora 25 de mayo's Sebastian Uhrig threw himself towards the right post 13 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Manuel Lohitzun, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Gaizka Aranguren walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Cuervo Loco were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Distribuidora 25 de mayo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Abdulhamit Turbay took the corner. Sebastian Uhrig breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sebastian Uhrig showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Manuel Lohitzun in the 41st minute of the match. Gaizka Aranguren was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 43rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Manuel Lohitzun to make the kick off. Edelmiro Paez recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
