When Gil Godoi fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PGE FC's protests and gave Gil Godoi a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute Dalmacio Olivar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Merexildo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Düsseldorf FC's Dalmacio Olivar slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rolando Merexildo. That made the score 2-0 after 13 minutes of play. 18 minutes into the game, Düsseldorf FC's Alvaro Calvino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Merexildo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Rolando Merexildo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alvaro Calvino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
