When the match had gone on for 17 minutes, Freddy Asur took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Mariano Frascuelo to make any attempt to save it. 19 minutes into the game, Freddy Asur cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Mariano Frascuelo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 22nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hartlepool United F.C.'s goalkeeper Silvio Oxel, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Elvio Socorro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Mariano Frascuelo, 5-0. 29 minutes into the match, Los del sur F. C's goalkeeper Mariano Frascuelo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elvio Socorro. Ceferino Iraitz did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 6-0 to the left of a surprised Mariano Frascuelo 31 minutes into the match. Freddy Asur's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mariano Frascuelo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 39th minute of play. Los del sur F. C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 41st minute, when Savas Romanidis scored to the left of an out of position Mariano Frascuelo, making the score, 8-0. Mariano Frascuelo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Elvio Socorro in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 8-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ceferino Iraitz to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, Donato Eladio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los del sur F. C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Donato Eladio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 56 minutes into the match, Los del sur F. C's goal looked a bit too open when Elvio Socorro came free, but Mariano Frascuelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Donato Eladio came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Los del sur F. C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donato Eladio couldn't finish the play. 61 minutes into the match, Los del sur F. C's goal looked a bit too open when Savas Romanidis came free, but Mariano Frascuelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Silvio Oxel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Paranaense in the 62nd minute of play. Mariano Frascuelo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elvio Socorro, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Silvio Oxel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There was no doubt that Hartlepool United F.C. were the better team. Hartlepool United F.C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
