Evaristo Abalos kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Clodoveo Cayo might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristian Lucchetti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Clodoveo Cayo ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Tostão de Queirós's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sergio Livingstone was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched ViCeNzA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
