The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustavo Birila in the 2nd minute of play forced Lanus's goalkeeper Maximo Berto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Lanus's Sergio Dimas got a free kick in the 9th minute. In the 10th minute Gustavo Birila shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Berto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Papillon AC's Gustavo Birila nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Maximo Berto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. In the 24th minute of the match, Dieguito Armando tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Ezequiel Azeari saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Maximo Berto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hipolito Johans in the 26th minute of the match. Papillon AC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Gustavo Birila in the 27th minute. In the 35th minute Emiliano Nardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Maximo Berto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lanus's Maximo Berto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Birila in the 37th minute of play. Ezequiel Azeari took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dieguito Armando, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sergio Jerano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The wind increased when Dieguito Armando made the kick off in the second half. Maximo Berto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hipolito Johans in the 52nd minute of play. Ezequiel Azeari showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dieguito Armando, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Sergio Dimas charged in rather forcefully in the 61st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Sergio Dimas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Papillon AC booed when Lanus was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sergio Dimas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hipolito Johans received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Maximo Berto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maximo Berto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Emiliano Nardo in the 65th minute. 66 minutes into the game, Sergio Jerano recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Maximo Berto.
