Seating: 1782, VIP seats: 154) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Jeremias Mark got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Deportivo Medievales's goalkeeper Zhao Ran Ming had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Guaberto Urtsua. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amos Bearzot during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Resistencia's Amos Bearzot got a free kick in the 5th minute. Gaetano Mathieu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeremias Mark in the 6th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Resistencia's Guaberto Urtsua slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Zhao Ran Ming. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeremias Mark in the 11th minute of play forced Resistencia's goalkeeper Gaetano Mathieu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Deportivo Medievales's Zhao Ran Ming proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Medievales from getting a goal against them. 19 minutes into the game, Deportivo Medievales's Jeremias Mark nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gaetano Mathieu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Gaetano Mathieu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Mark, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Guaberto Urtsua managed to get in a good position for a shot. Resistencia's supporters rose to their feet, but Guaberto Urtsua was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zhao Ran Ming breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Guaberto Urtsua had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Resistencia's goalkeeper Gaetano Mathieu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 32nd minute Jeremías Tindall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gaetano Mathieu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Erubiel Aresti hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gaetano Mathieu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeremias Mark, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gaetano Mathieu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeremias Mark, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Guaberto Urtsua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Zhao Ran Ming tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Resistencia's goalkeeper Gaetano Mathieu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 47th minute, Gilberto Aballe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guaberto Urtsua to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Guaberto Urtsua shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zhao Ran Ming saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Resistencia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Adrian Aznar in the 58th minute. Resistencia's Adrian Aznar was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Zhao Ran Ming in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. When Gilberto Aballe came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Resistencia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilberto Aballe couldn't finish the play. Jeremias Mark recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Medievales's zone, Guaberto Urtsua stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zhao Ran Ming came out of the goal and Guaberto Urtsua tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Deportivo Medievales made a substitution. Eleuterio Ovando replaced Carlos Frisco. Jeremias Mark received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Gaetano Mathieu came out and tried to block the shot, but Jeremias Mark slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 76th minute. Deportivo Medievales's attentive Wellington Aranzazu managed to snatch the ball when Noureddine Fillali made a throw-in in the 82nd minute of the game. After 82 played minutes Resistencia got a freekick which was hit by Guaberto Urtsua. Deportivo Medievales's Jeremias Mark was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 87th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Deportivo Medievales's Marcelino Cidro was substituted for Wellington Aranzazu. The supporters of Deportivo Medievales booed when Resistencia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Matías Hendrickx didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Deportivo Medievales supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Deportivo Medievales would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
