Gregorio Frichoso hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Matorin in the 9th minute of play forced Escalada City FC's goalkeeper Pastor Noriega to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 13 minutes, Pastor Quiroga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Escalada City FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pastor Quiroga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 17 minutes into the game, Escalada City FC's Pastor Quiroga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After a rather tough play, Escalada City FC's Gregorio Frichoso got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 27th minute, Éder Neto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Waldemar Matorin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pastor Noriega having to make a save. Karl-Johan Ahlqvist showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celestino Ponce in the 31st minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Aquiles Belasko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Norberto Orlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marty Norton hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. 41 minutes into the match, Waldemar Matorin dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pastor Noriega, 1-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Waldemar Matorin in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Pastor Noriega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pastor Noriega was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Waldemar Matorin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 48 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pastor Quiroga to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Ritchie Obis's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pastor Noriega was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Pastor Noriega stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waldemar Matorin's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. 58 minutes into the match, Escalada City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ritchie Obis came free, but Pastor Noriega reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Black Rose 1979's Sebastian Enekoitz got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Marty Norton fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Escalada City FC's protests and gave Marty Norton a yellow card for diving instead. After 65 played minutes Escalada City FC got a freekick which was hit by Marty Norton. Escalada City FC's Pastor Noriega played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ritchie Obis in the 67th minute of play. In the 71st minute Waldemar Matorin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Noriega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Black Rose 1979's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Sebastian Enekoitz in the 73rd minute. It was a well-played corner which Norberto Orlin managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 80 played minutes Escalada City FC got a freekick which was hit by Celso Onbera. Jairo Ovando kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute Norberto Orlin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Noriega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Escalada City FC booed when Black Rose 1979 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Orlando Rudolfo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pastor Noriega stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Waldemar Matorin's shot from short distance in the 91st minute. 94 minutes into the match, Waldemar Matorin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pastor Noriega. Escalada City FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Waldemar Matorin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. In the 97th match minute, Escalada City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celestino Ponce to maneuver through the defense. After 98 played minutes, Black Rose 1979's Alonzo Oxel shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pastor Noriega came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Black Rose 1979 reached it. There was no doubt that Black Rose 1979 were the better team. Black Rose 1979's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
