Enzo Haritz kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Denis Inautzi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teobaldo Rosario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Newell´s's Marcos Giraldo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 4th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Godofredo Bras but with some difficulty. 6 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Teobaldo Rosario came free, but Denis Inautzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Newell´s's Denis Inautzi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Teobaldo Rosario in the 9th minute of play. When C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Teobaldo Rosario in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Newell´s's goalie prevented a goal. Hector Saturnin kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Godofredo Bras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrej Golota in the 20th minute of play. When Marcos Giraldo came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Newell´s fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Giraldo couldn't finish the play. Godofredo Bras made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fermin Etxeberri in the 33rd minute of play. In the 37th minute Fermin Etxeberri shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godofredo Bras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Andrej Golota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godofredo Bras having to interfere. 41 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Teobaldo Rosario came free, but Denis Inautzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C. S. D. Pueyrredón's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Fermin Etxeberri scored to the left of an out of position Godofredo Bras, making the score, 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fermin Etxeberri made a kick off. Denis Inautzi made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Efrain Clodio sent off a good shot on target. In the 54th minute Efrain Clodio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denis Inautzi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Godofredo Bras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fermin Etxeberri in the 56th minute of play. Denis Inautzi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alejandro Berto, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. 59 minutes into the game, Newell´s's Enzo Haritz nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Godofredo Bras made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 68 minutes of play, Newell´s's Fermin Etxeberri made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Godofredo Bras was left in no man's land by his defense there! Newell´s's Cleto Laffitte was substituted for Fermin Etxeberri. In the 72nd minute of the match, Alejandro Berto got a very nice opportunity to score, but Denis Inautzi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Godofredo Bras took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alejandro Sabella, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Denis Inautzi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Teobaldo Rosario in the 75th minute. 76 minutes into the match, Newell´s's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Clodio came free, but Denis Inautzi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. C. S. D. Pueyrredón made a substitution. Roch Siekierka replaced Eriberto Bakar. C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Halil İbrahim Yeltekin was substituted for Teobaldo Rosario. After 79 played minutes Newell´s got a freekick which was hit by Cleto Laffitte. Baldomiro Pierres hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Hector Saturnin made in the 82nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Newell´s's Bohuslav Sedlařík. The throw-in from Bohuslav Sedlařík in the 87th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by C. S. D. Pueyrredón's Hector Saturnin. After some careless play in the C. S. D. Pueyrredón defense, Cleto Laffitte kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Godofredo Bras. The C. S. D. Pueyrredón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Godofredo Bras should have stopped the shot. In the 92nd minute, Cleto Laffitte made a precise shot to the right of Godofredo Bras. C. S. D. Pueyrredón's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. With a little luck, Newell´s's Denis Inautzi got control of the ball when Halil İbrahim Yeltekin tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Newell´s's Baldomiro Pierres got a free kick in the 96th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Newell´s fans cheered their team off the field, for while C. S. D. Pueyrredón had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
