Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tosun Paşa in the 17th minute of play forced River Plate's goalkeeper Genaro Quiroga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 21 played minutes Vaqueteros FC got a freekick which was hit by Alexandru Stroescu. Genaro Quiroga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tosun Paşa in the 27th minute of the match. 30 minutes into the match, Vaqueteros FC's goalkeeper Javier Tono had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romulo Casado. Genaro Quiroga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tosun Paşa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tosun Paşa made a kick off. The supporters of Vaqueteros FC booed when River Plate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristo Restu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Genaro Quiroga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venancio Victoro, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute.
