Damaso Lain fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without James Barnes having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jorge Cervera in the 44th minute of play forced Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC's goalkeeper Kim-André van der Schans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 46th minute, Candido Ospin ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kim-André van der Schans was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Damaso Lain to strike the kick off in the second half. James Barnes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damaso Lain in the 57th minute of the match. In the 58th minute Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC were awarded a corner. Honorio Geleberto went to the cornerflag to take it. 62 minutes into the match, Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC's goalkeeper Kim-André van der Schans had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jorge Cervera. 66 minutes into the match, Damaso Lain notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Los Piratas FC's James Barnes. James Barnes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 70th minute, Damaso Lain left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. The referee felt a red card was in order, 73 minutes into the game, when Stanislas Ripoll put in a rough tackle. Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herald Roockeloes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Candido Ospin in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kim-André van der Schans saved Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 82 minutes, Candido Ospin put it in 3-4 from a short distance just to the right of Kim-André van der Schans. Gavino Iratxo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. James Barnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kim-André van der Schans made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Moises Luzea sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of Los Piratas FC booed when Vαʅʅιɱαɳƈα FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damaso Lain didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Moises Luzea got free with Kim-André van der Schans in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
