If Polo Quinteros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Polo Quinteros in the 16th minute of play forced Los Piratas FC's goalkeeper James Barnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Nils Myhr quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gerasimos Tatoulis, made in the 21st minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Polo Quinteros in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck James Barnes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Florentino Herauso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Candido Ospin in the 27th minute of the match. If Polo Quinteros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Los Piratas FC defense, Polo Quinteros kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of James Barnes. The Los Piratas FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that James Barnes should have stopped the shot. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Candido Ospin put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Florentino Herauso. In the 45th minute Polo Quinteros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but James Barnes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Santa Lucia de Merlo's M. Agus Young was substituted for Polo Quinteros. Florentino Herauso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Candido Ospin in the 55th minute of play. Santa Lucia de Merlo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Benjamin Lehoi in the 58th minute. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Benjamin Lehoi was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but James Barnes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Arnaldo Chano kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Santa Lucia de Merlo's Florentino Herauso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Candido Ospin in the 65th minute of play. M. Agus Young scored 3-3 in the 69th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of James Barnes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 76 minutes Los Piratas FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Aldo Hartz who took care of the corner kick. James Barnes made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Edmundo Nóbrega sent off a good shot on target. M. Agus Young blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without James Barnes having to make a save. After 84 minutes of play, Los Piratas FC's 俞广扬 made it 4-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Florentino Herauso was left in no man's land by his defense there! M. Agus Young received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. James Barnes came out and tried to block the shot, but M. Agus Young slotted it home off the left post making it 4-4 in the 88th minute. Edmundo Nóbrega came free with the goalkeeper in the 91st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and James Barnes could save by the left post. In the 92nd minute, M. Agus Young made a precise shot to the right of James Barnes. Los Piratas FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-5. The crowd rose to their feet as M. Agus Young kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving James Barnes. That made the score 4-6 in the 95 minute of play. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Santa Lucia de Merlo had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
