Jeremias Cruz came out of the goal and Matías Kranevitter tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With his leg Benjamin Tino managed to avoid a goal in the 16thth minute, when Cremonese's Lu Guang Lang fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 27th minute Matías Kranevitter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeremias Cruz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 28th minute, Leonel Valentim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Benjamin Tino took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duvan Zapata, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cremonese's Jeremias Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cleto Cordaro in the 33rd minute of play. Jeremias Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cleto Cordaro in the 36th minute of play. Jeremias Cruz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matías Kranevitter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Diego Portela lost his temper 41 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lu Guang Lang in the 43rd minute of play forced Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A nice corner shot did that Květoslav Kubalík got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Benjamin Tino quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Club El Progreso walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
