Cox recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zacarias Ascencio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Shi Ming went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Celta de Virgos's Zacarias Ascencio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shi Ming in the 17th minute of play. 23 minutes into the game, Celta de Virgos's Leonardo Cordero nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Kenneth Libesoons made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Shi Ming sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Terremoto FC's Kenneth Libesoons played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benny Niva in the 30th minute of play. In the 37th minute, Hilario Duarte hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Kenneth Libesoons took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ruben Gomez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

In the 85th minute Bernard Mietus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Ascencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 89 minutes into the match, Bernard Mietus had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zacarias Ascencio. Celta de Virgos's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bernard Mietus was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Astudillo in the 94th minute of play forced Terremoto FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Libesoons to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Celta de Virgos's David Astudillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kenneth Libesoons narrowly saved just below the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Celta de Virgos players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
