The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Afonso da Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcial Bakar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Afonso da Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. Marcial Bakar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso da Cunha in the 7th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Marten Descamps in the 8th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Eulalio Jago. 11 minutes into the match, Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Willian Pay. After a defensive mix-up in Aves Negras's zone, Cumhur Günay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcial Bakar came out of the goal and Cumhur Günay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcial Bakar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cumhur Günay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 30 minutes into the match, Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Willian Pay. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Rogério Ceni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 41st minute of the match, managed to save Belgrano LOS PIRATAS from getting a goal against them. Fan Yang Hong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcial Bakar having to interfere. After 45 played minutes Belgrano LOS PIRATAS got a freekick which was hit by Aldo Franco. 46 minutes into the game, Aldo Franco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Aves Negras the free kick. Aldo Franco hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

Aves Negras made a substitution. Clarence Seedorf replaced Lucas Rodriguez. After having played for 58 minutes, Willian Pay managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Aves Negras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Willian Pay was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Belgrano LOS PIRATAS getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Edu Dum hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's zone, Willian Pay stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rogério Ceni came out of the goal and Willian Pay tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rogério Ceni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willian Pay in the 69th minute of play. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Melchor Markel was substituted for Guillermo Frank. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Steve Harris was substituted for Luca Savini. In the 73rdth minute of the game Efrain Artal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Rogério Ceni was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A throw-in in the 76th minute of the game was made by Fan Yang Hong with Melchor Markel as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. In the 85th minute, Edu Dum hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Teodoro Hartz could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Marcial Bakar made a huge save. In the 94th minute of the match Clarence Seedorf shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rogério Ceni showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Efrain Artal in the 97th minute of play forced Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's goalkeeper Rogério Ceni to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Aves Negras fans cheered their team off the field, for while Belgrano LOS PIRATAS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
