The referee ignored Abasto fútbol club's protests and gave Damaso Estruch a yellow card for diving instead. In the 41st minute, one of Abasto fútbol club:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Abasto fútbol club. Abasto fútbol club:s Martin Illart showed great skill when he stopped Afonso da Cunha:s penalty. Cumhur Günay got in the 45th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Martin Illart handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The wind increased when Afonso da Cunha made the kick off in the second half. Belgrano LOS PIRATAS's Rogério Ceni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save Belgrano LOS PIRATAS from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Norberto Tiadoro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abasto fútbol club's supporters rose to their feet, but Norberto Tiadoro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rogério Ceni breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cumhur Günay in the 68th minute of play forced Abasto fútbol club's goalkeeper Martin Illart to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
