The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Zeledon Savion had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. In the 6th minute Zeledon Savion shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Ranolfo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Ranolfo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zeledon Savion, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zeledon Savion in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Ranolfo saved Estudiantes de América from getting behind. When the match clock showed 40 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Zeledon Savion sped through Estudiantes de América's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcos Ranolfo. Zeledon Savion received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Marcos Ranolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Estudiantes de América players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. AC LeX Luthor were winning 0-1.

They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing AC LeX Luthor would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
