In the 20th minute, Madoc Kenna ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gwalchmei Burdick was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. The audience was convinced that Pelles Herrington's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gwalchmei Burdick was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in UWA Baglan's zone, Madoc Kenna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gwalchmei Burdick came out of the goal and Madoc Kenna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Madoc Kenna succeeded in the game's 28th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Madoc Kenna charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Madoc Kenna the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Newtown getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Madoc Kenna hit a great ball. In the 36th minute Vaughn Gilliland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calcas Jack saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of UWA Baglan booed when Newtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gwyn King didn't get a good kick on the ball. Calcas Jack made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vaughn Gilliland in the 40th minute of play. UWA Baglan's Gwalchmei Burdick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Madoc Kenna in the 43rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Madoc Kenna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Newtown's supporters rose to their feet, but Madoc Kenna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gwalchmei Burdick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vaughn Gilliland sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The UWA Baglan players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Newtown were winning 0-2.

Gwalchmei Burdick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ermid Augustin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 54th minute, Newtown's Madoc Kenna ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gwalchmei Burdick. Gwalchmei Burdick yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Pelles Herrington sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Calcas Jack didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Wren Fielding went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. After 73 minutes, Gwyn King mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newtown and the UWA Baglan players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to UWA Baglan getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Cairn Lamerton hit a great ball. Pelles Herrington recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Vaughn Gilliland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Calcas Jack took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wren Fielding, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Newtown's goal looked a bit too open when Vaughn Gilliland came free, but Calcas Jack reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ermid Augustin kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 90th minute Wren Fielding shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Calcas Jack saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calcas Jack made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vaughn Gilliland in the 93rd minute of play. If Madoc Kenna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
