Spectators: 6771 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1771, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Collen Hernon started the match with the kick off. Ceithin Huckaby received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Angawdd Hewitt came out and tried to block the shot, but Ceithin Huckaby slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Parry Hawley stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Collen Hernon's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Maesteg FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Drystan Kinnavy in the 10th minute. The corner ended in Collen Hernon almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Knighton's Parry Hawley did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gwyddawg Booth in the 14th minute of play forced Maesteg FC's goalkeeper Angawdd Hewitt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd play minute Naw Andrew came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Angawdd Hewitt. 3-0. The supporters of Maesteg FC booed when Knighton was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iolo Critchley didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Gwyddawg Booth came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Knighton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gwyddawg Booth couldn't finish the play. Naw Andrew fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Angawdd Hewitt having to interfere. If Gwyddawg Booth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Greidyawl Foote charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Greidyawl Foote the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 52nd match minute, Knighton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Greidyawl Foote to maneuver through the defense. In the 60th minute, Cadwaladr Kern got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Parry Hawley made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cadwaladr Kern in the 62nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gwyddawg Booth in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angawdd Hewitt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Owein Catton kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Gwyddawg Booth came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Knighton fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gwyddawg Booth couldn't finish the play. 69 minutes into the match, Knighton's Gwyddawg Booth sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Angawdd Hewitt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Knighton's Ceithin Huckaby got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Tudur Herring hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Knighton's Naw Andrew got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Angawdd Hewitt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gwyddawg Booth in the 96th minute of the match. Knighton's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
