The tension between the Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain and the Neath players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 8thth minute of the game Rhett Berry who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain's Lovel Hobbs was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Rhett Berry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 12 minutes, Collen Forsyth managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Neath's supporters crossed their fingers, but Collen Forsyth was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Neath the free kick. The supporters of Neath booed when Llansanffraid-ym-Mechain was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vicente Locatelli didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lovel Hobbs made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Collen Forsyth in the 29th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Neath walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
