Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Adam Cochrane took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 3 minutes, Brian Beattie mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tranent FC and the Stracathro players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tranent FC's Brian Beattie got a free kick in the 4th minute. Finlay Daniels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Robert McChruiter, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. The supporters of Tranent FC booed when Stracathro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richard Sim didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th minute of the match Richard Pratt sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Finlay Daniels skillfully saved the ball. If Callum Caddell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Rupert Wilkie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 20th minute, Jake McGregor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 23rd minute of the match Will Patrick shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Finlay Daniels showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Callum Caddell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Finlay Daniels made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Callum Caddell in the 40th minute of play. In the 40th minute, Kyle McTear hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Robert McChruiter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Callum Caddell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some careless play in the Stracathro defense, Robert McChruiter kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Finlay Daniels. The Stracathro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Finlay Daniels should have stopped the shot. After the first half Tranent FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Callum Caddell to make the kick off. Callum Caddell was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. Tranent FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Callum Caddell in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Finlay Daniels saved Stracathro from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Tranent FC's Jake McGregor got a free kick in the 57th minute. Robert McChruiter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Finlay Daniels stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Callum Caddell's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Richard Pratt kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Finlay Daniels showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Callum Caddell, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 75th minute Callum Caddell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Finlay Daniels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Robert McChruiter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Finlay Daniels having to interfere. After 78 played minutes Stracathro got a freekick which was hit by Simon Lang. In the 79th minute, Richard Pratt sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Stracathro's Finlay Daniels didn't even have to move. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rupert Wilkie in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Logan McQuire saved Tranent FC from getting behind. After 86 played minutes, Stracathro's Fergus Kendrick shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Logan McQuire came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stracathro reached it. Jake McGregor's late challenge caught a Stracathro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jake McGregor helped the player get up and apologised. In the 87th minute, Jake McGregor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 96 minutes into the match, Tranent FC's goal looked a bit too open when Adam Cochrane came free, but Logan McQuire reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Stracathro fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tranent FC were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
