Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Marcus Cassels made the kick off which started today's match. In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Millport's goalkeeper Bob McLennan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rupert Wilkie scored 1-0 in the 7th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bob McLennan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a little luck, Millport's Bob McLennan got control of the ball when Rupert Wilkie tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 12th minute by Rupert Wilkie got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 15th minute Quentin Kilgour shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Finlay Daniels saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Marcus Cassels had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Finlay Daniels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Cassels, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 31 minutes into the match, Stracathro's goal looked a bit too open when Marcus Cassels came free, but Finlay Daniels reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Quentin Kilgour came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Millport fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quentin Kilgour couldn't finish the play. Marcus Cassels received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Finlay Daniels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Simon Lang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bob McLennan having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 43rd minute by Rupert Wilkie got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After a rather tough play, Millport's Will Robinson got a free kick in the 44th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Millport's zone, Adam Cochrane stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bob McLennan came out of the goal and Adam Cochrane tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Marcus Cassels fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Finlay Daniels having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Quentin Kilgour got free with Finlay Daniels in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the game, Quentin Kilgour cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Finlay Daniels was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Adam Cochrane managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stracathro's supporters rose to their feet, but Adam Cochrane was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bob McLennan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Quentin Kilgour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Millport booed when Stracathro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aidan Duffy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 69 minutes into the match, Millport's Quentin Kilgour sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Finlay Daniels narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Quentin Kilgour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th minute, Stracathro's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Quentin Kilgour fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Quentin Kilgour received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Finlay Daniels tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Nicholas Fisher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 89 minutes, Murray Findlater managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Millport's supporters crossed their fingers, but Murray Findlater was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quentin Kilgour kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. In the 94th minute, Gordon Crookshanks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Millport supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Millport would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
