Murray Haws showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dean Fairley, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. In the 48th minute Jake Eadie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murray Haws saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Simon Fox was the one to do the kick off. The Bellshill fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Murray Haws made an important save on a dangerous shot by Patrick McGillivantic in the 95th minute. 99 minutes into the match, Bellshill's goalkeeper Murray Haws had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Richard McTaggart. For all the effort they put into the match, the Caesarians players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Bellshill.
